It's a combination of just about the best sTLD potential and worst registry management I can imagine. I owned a bunch, but as time passes and the registry stubbornly refuses to get their head out of their ass I'm paring back. Down to about a hundred now, but the number will continue to fall this year and next unless they take action to promote competition (reasonable prices)

Still, you gotta love names like construction.pro, support.pro, pizza.pro, kitchen.pro ....

Yea, I have three .PROs. I was only going to reg one and regged two additional ones. All three tied to local services. I like the extension....its perfect for us. But, the extension doesn't get a ton of support.
