GeoDomainRealEstate.com  Cool

I was thrilled to just be able to just hand reg this domain! IMO Geo Domains are the closest thing to combining traditional and virtual real estate and I feel this can be a very powerful domain.

I am not sure what do you mean by this? May be you can explain more....

Btw, it does remind me of my DNRealEstate.com

My point is that with traditional real estate you are buying a geographic location in the real world. By combining the name of a real geographic locational and transferring that actual geo location into the virtual world and calling it the same name you are effectively merging the two worlds. This is why I think all of us in this forum are fascinated by geo domains because we are essentially putting a huge stake in a swath of land in the virtual world that actually exists as land in the real world. Books, cars, jobs, these are all amazing keywords but they do not also represent land in the real world. Geo Domains are BOTH, real land AND virtual land. That's why combining they keywords Geo Domain and Real Estate into a domain name is so powerful because IMO it is the generic term that categorizes the niche of domain investing we are doing. I hope this explains what I meant a tad better.

I always refer to names like tampa.com or newyork.com as "geo names" or "geos" and  I have been trying to get people using the term "geo-generic" to describe the overall category of names that are a combination of  a location and a good/service

losangeles.com - geo
losangeles+mechanic - geo generic
losangeles+real estate  - geo generic
texas+auctioneer - geo generic

Outside of the precious few true "geo" domains most of us own "geo-generic" domains

in reference to your geo-generic concept. i think you are on to something, my thought though is that it's not generic but specific and the actual geo name is becoming generic.
you referenced los angeles .com
then los angeles + mechanic .com

so now i have to go to los angeles .com to find a mechanic

as most or all geo city names are taken i've concentrated on a niche that i feel eliminates the extra clicking once you land on a web site. the focus is relocation. i started with the thought that it would be a great fit for only realtors but now that i've jumped in more to the geo domain concept i see my portfolio of names to be encompassing to people relocating and businesses and service providers to those transferring.

after all these newcomers will need home ins, car ins, banks, new favorite restaurants, doctors, dentists etc. this now becomes a perfect site for them to advertise on.

what are your thoughts.

you can reference my sites at either; www.RelocatingToInc.com which is the corporate site and now needs to be rewritten after what i've been learning to not just focus on realtors/real estate or the local site; www.RelocatingToToledo.com
